By the election of the ombudspersons, the scientific staff of the IUF expressed a high level of confidence in the research group leaders Dr. Thomas Haarmann-Stemmann and Prof. Charlotte Esser.
The ombudsperson is the point of contact in case of inconsistencies and issues regarding the rules of good scientific practice according to the guidelines for good scientific practice at the IUF. In this function they are available as independent contact partners for all employees of the institute in case of questions regarding the compliance to the rules of good scientific practice and the IUF’s rules of scientific conduct.
Additionally, young researchers can address the ombudsperson in case of problems or conflicts within the structured doctoral program. The ombudsperson’s task is to mediate or to act as arbitrator if problems cannot be solved by the PhD council and/or IUF’s management.
