The IUF is headed by a Scientific Manager (Jean Krutmann, M.D., Professor of Environmental Health Research and Dermatology) and an Economic and Legal Manager (Dr. Alexander Beaucamp).
The Scientific Manager is designated as “director of the institute”. He represents the IUF to the public and is the speaker of the management. He determines the scientific focus of the IUF in agreement with the board of supervisors and the scientific advisory board. He leads the current affairs in the scientific area, determines the research aims and the IUF’s scientific structure. Additionally, he is responsible for the selection of the scientific personnel.
The Economic and Legal Manager is the assistant speaker of the management. He is responsible for the commercial direction of the institute including all economic, legal and administrative questions. Furthermore, he takes care of the selection of the commercial personnel and the budget.
Currently, the IUF consists of 7 working groups and 2 liaison groups.
